What you'll do

• Obtain histories and perform physical examinations
• order and interpret diagnostic studies
• prescribe appropriate treatments in collaboration with attending physicians
• evaluate acute and chronic complaints
• manage postoperative patients and adjust orders in collaboration with physicians
• consult with specialists and care-team members
• document care and procedures
• coordinate inpatient and outpatient care and discharge planning
• provide patient teaching and counseling
• perform designated procedures after competency
• may learn or perform bedside procedures and assist in surgery if desired.
