The cook supports Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation’s Nutrition and Food Services team, helping provide residents with nutritious, appetizing meals ordered by their physicians. The role prepares and serves meals according to recipes, portion directives, menus, and food-safety practices. It also supports kitchen sanitation, temperature and inventory records, and communication with residents, families, and community staff to maintain safe, consistent meal service.

What you'll do

• Prepare and serve meals using portion-control directives
• thaw and store food properly
• review menus and production sheets with the Director of Nutrition and Food Services
• operate and sanitize equipment
• record food and cooler/freezer temperatures
• document substitutions
• maintain cleaning schedules
• label, date, and rotate food
• support inventory and departmental quality assurance.
