The Civil Engineer / Field Engineer role is onsite in Grand Junction, CO. Compensation is $65,000–$80,000 per year. Occasional travel may be required depending on project needs, and schedules may extend beyond the typical work week. The role supports KLJ engineering projects involving site conditions, infrastructure, and transportation channels. Under general supervision, the engineer assists with collecting and analyzing project data, evaluating site conditions, and providing technical support for design and construction. Accurate documentation, safety practices, and engineering analysis help project teams develop and deliver compliant, functional infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Collect, compile, and analyze data from worksites, surveys, blueprints, GIS, utility information, maps, and geotechnical sources
• assist with research and observations of site conditions and infrastructure for compliance
• perform routine engineering functions and entry-level technical assistance
• verify site characteristics and assist with environmental, design, and construction issues
• prepare documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field logs
• follow safety and site-specific procedures
• complete assigned training
• exercise responsible and ethical decision-making
• perform additional responsibilities as required.
