The Director of Tax role is onsite in Draper, UT; compensation is not specified. Kelso Industries brings together more than 40 companies providing HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical solutions nationwide. The director will build and lead a centralized tax function, owning enterprise tax strategy, compliance, reporting, risk, and post-acquisition integration. Establishing processes, controls, and a team supports the company's tax governance and public-company readiness.

What you'll do

• Set enterprise tax strategy and advise executive leadership
• lead tax work for IPO readiness
• build tax processes, documentation, and SOX 404 controls
• manage tax risk
• own quarterly and annual ASC 740 provisions and federal and state income tax compliance
• oversee sales and use, property, payroll, and other non-income tax programs
• lead tax audits and controversy matters
• integrate acquired companies' tax operations
• build and lead the tax department
• manage external tax providers
• use AI tools and workflows to accelerate compliance and reporting.
