The Early Head Start Lead Teacher position is onsite at The Rose Center in New York, NY. The salary range is $45,653.03–$51,879.17 per year, and the schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM. The role is in Grand Street Settlement's Early Childhood department. The teacher plans and delivers individualized services for a classroom of eight children, supporting their developmental, social, emotional, and health needs. The role coordinates curriculum, assessments, family partnerships, and support for children with special needs in accordance with Early Head Start and applicable regulations.

What you'll do

• Plan, document, and deliver curriculum for individual children and the group
• maintain a safe and sanitary environment
• coordinate records, curriculum planning, and developmental assessments
• establish team meetings
• build partnerships with parents and communicate child development information
• conduct screenings, home visits, and parent-teacher conferences
• collaborate with specialists to support children with diagnosed special needs
• follow applicable regulations and agency policies.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or an approved study plan toward a degree and New York State B–2 teacher certification, plus an Infant/Toddler CDA or related coursework. Bilingual English/Chinese or Spanish is strongly preferred.
