The Afterschool Program Aide role is onsite in New York, NY. The posting lists an hourly rate of $17.50–$18.00 and a Monday–Friday schedule from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., 20 hours per week. Greenwich House’s Youth Services department supports early childhood-aged children through afterschool programming. The aide works alongside an Activity Leader to provide safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate activities that support early learning, creativity, movement, and social-emotional growth. The role helps children participate, transition through the program, and build positive social skills.

What you'll do

• Support play-based activities
• assist with small- and whole-group arts, music, movement, imaginative play, and exploration
• reinforce routines and positive behavior guidance
• support transitions, snack time, outdoor play, and dismissal
• prepare and clean up materials
• supervise children during activities and trips
• model positive behavior and promote character development, social skills, and cooperation.

Why this role
