Billing Specialist, Home Health and Hospice

The Billing Specialist, Home Health and Hospice role is onsite in Pueblo, CO. Compensation is $21–$25 per hour. The position supports billing for Sangre De Cristo Hospice & Palliative Care’s home health, hospice, and palliative care services. The specialist prepares and follows claims through payer review, resolves reimbursement issues, and maintains accurate billing records. This work supports compliant revenue-cycle operations and helps the care organization sustain patient services.

What you'll do

• Prepare, review, and submit electronic and paper claims
• verify HCPCS, CPT, and ICD-10 coding
• bill Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurers, and other payers
• monitor work queues and claim edits
• resolve denied, rejected, or underpaid claims
• follow up on outstanding accounts
• coordinate documentation fixes with clinical and administrative teams
• maintain EMR and billing records
• follow CMS, payer, and HIPAA requirements
• assist with month-end billing and cross-coverage.
