Journeyman Cybersecurity Engineer (ISSM)

The Journeyman Cybersecurity Engineer (ISSM) role is onsite at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA. Pay is $120,000–$130,000 per year. Astrion supports the Command, Control, Communications (C3C)/Kessel Run division, whose technologies support Air Force command-and-control and targeting capabilities. The engineer serves as a cybersecurity advisor and supports system authorization, continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and security integration across the Air Operations Center weapon system and its lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Lead Assessment and Authorization activities to obtain and maintain an Authorization to Operate using eMASS
• oversee continuous monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and configuration hardening
• manage incident reporting, root-cause analysis, and corrective action plans
• maintain cybersecurity documentation and authorization
• assess configuration changes and security controls
• process firewall exemption requests and approve change requests
• support ACAS installation, scanning, analysis, reporting, and remediation.

Why this role

Requires U.S. citizenship, an active Secret clearance, a bachelor's degree in a related technical field, 5+ years of dedicated Department of War cybersecurity experience, and IAM Level III certification. Travel is limited, as needed.
