The Structures Design Engineer II role is onsite in Mukilteo, WA, with an annual salary range of $100,000–$120,000. The role is part of Karman Space & Defense’s Hypersonics and Strategic Missile Defense business. The engineer designs aerospace structures, mechanisms, and tooling, with a focus on advanced composite materials, and supports analysis, manufacturing, testing, and deployment to deliver flight-worthy designs that meet customer and compliance requirements.

What you'll do

• Design structures, tooling, and mechanisms
• create component and assembly CAD models
• produce engineering drawings and define bills of materials, manufacturing requirements, and inspection criteria
• perform geometric tolerancing and mechanical calculations
• review designs for cost, manufacturability, and quality
• support customers, purchasing, manufacturing, quality assurance, testing, and deployment
• document performance and compliance requirements
• contribute to proposals and presentations
• perform engineering analyses
• mentor junior engineers.
