Hospice Associate Medical Director

The Hospice Associate Medical Director role is onsite in Bennington, Vermont, for 5–10 hours per week. Compensation is $100–$140 per hour. VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region is a nonprofit home health and hospice agency focused on compassionate, customized care for people of all ages. The role provides medical oversight for the hospice program, complementing attending physician care and supporting continuity of services and symptom management. It also contributes to eligibility review, care planning, regulatory compliance, clinical consultation, certification, quality improvement, and community representation of the hospice program.

What you'll do

• Provide medical direction to the hospice program and employees or contractors
• review hospice eligibility and establish plans of care with attending physicians and the interdisciplinary group
• comply with Medicare, accrediting, and statutory requirements
• consult with and educate community providers and clinical colleagues
• certify terminal illness for subsequent benefit periods
• review and update care plans at least every 15 days or as needed
• complete required face-to-face encounters and attestations
• participate in QAPI activities
• represent the hospice program in the community.
