Process and Data Intern — Temporary Assignment

The Process and Data Intern role is onsite in Houston, TX, as a temporary, full-time assignment expected to last approximately six months. Compensation is $20 per hour. The intern supports Quanex’s Project Management Office (PMO), contributing to operational and project process improvement. The role exists to help the PMO understand workflows, identify inefficiencies, and develop data-supported recommendations. Process mapping, stakeholder input, and operational data analysis help inform improvements to productivity, capacity utilization, and overall performance.

What you'll do

• Document and map end-to-end operational and project processes using methods such as SIPOC, swimlane diagrams, and value stream mapping
• conduct interviews and facilitate workshops
• identify process gaps, bottlenecks, handoff issues, constraints, and inefficiencies
• analyze production and operational data
• develop visual documentation, capability models, metrics, and data-driven recommendations.
