The Animal Care Specialist role is onsite in Ridgewood, NY, with compensation of $20 per hour. The role provides daily care and a clean, healthy environment for shelter animals while observing their health, behavior, and needs. The specialist shares relevant observations with care teams to support animals’ physical and emotional welfare and successful placement.

What you'll do

• Provide scheduled feedings, clean water, bedding, and enrichment
• clean and sanitize kennels, cages, equipment, and shelter areas
• exercise and socialize animals
• document unusual behavior, illness, or injury
• communicate relevant information to medical, behavior, adoption, and New Hope teams
• handle animals, process intakes as needed, and assist people using ACC services.
