Diet Clerk (On Call)

The Diet Clerk (On Call) role is onsite in Greenbrae, CA, with pay of $23–$25 per hour. The position supports patient menu management and diet-office functions at The Tamalpais under the direction of the Patient Services Manager and/or Clinical Nutrition Manager. The clerk helps patients make menu selections consistent with prescribed diets and supports timely, accurate food-service operations. The role contributes to patient care by coordinating menus, supplements, documentation, and infection-control practices in accordance with facility requirements.

What you'll do

• Distribute and collect menus
• assist patients with menu selections in accordance with prescribed diets as assigned by a dietitian
• offer permitted alternatives for allergies, sensitivities, and cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences
• plan regular and modified menus using the current diet manual
• prepare and distribute supplements, tube feedings, and enteral formula
• may handle human/donor milk or infant formula
• maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and patient-rights policies
• complete documentation and logs
• follow infection-control procedures
• participate in performance-improvement activities.
