The Maintenance Mechanic — 3rd Shift role is onsite in Chicago, IL, with compensation of $27.50–$42.00 per hour. The mechanic supports South Chicago Packing’s production facility and equipment to help maintain safe operations and quality products. The role exists to keep plant machinery and supporting systems operating by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment, completing preventive maintenance, and reducing downtime. The mechanic also fabricates repair parts as needed and supports production staff with maintenance information.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment
• complete preventive maintenance
• identify needed repairs and parts replacement and make timely repairs
• machine repair parts to specification as needed
• provide maintenance information to production workers
• maintain a safe and clean work environment
• support equipment including HVAC, boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration, blenders, processing, and packaging equipment.
