The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. This role demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise, utilizing appropriate age and population-specific standards.

What you'll do

• Provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
• Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
• Utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan.
• Performs testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provides necessary care.
• Recognizes problems, recommends solutions, and responds effectively to assist in emergent situations.
• Ensures the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
• Contributes to the assessment of residents and administers medications or treatments as ordered.
• Provides technical support to healthcare professionals.
• Documents resident interactions and outcomes.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.
• Works effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
• Communicates clearly and maintains confidentiality.
• Counsels residents, family members, and/or resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans.
• Develops self-care programs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Education

Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Experience

Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility.
