Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care

The Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care role is onsite in Elkhart, IN, with day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in 12-hour shifts; compensation is listed as $2,311 per hour. The 13-week assignment supports a 15-bed Intermediate Care unit caring for adult and geriatric patients. The unit has access to multidisciplinary clinical support, including intensivists, hospitalists, rapid response teams, and respiratory services. The nurse provides high-acuity intermediate care, monitoring complex medical and cardiac conditions and responding to changes in patient status. Responsibilities include telemetry, respiratory support, specialized medication protocols, documentation in Cerner, and coordination with physicians and interdisciplinary teams; floating to similar units is required as needed.

What you'll do

• Assess and monitor adult and geriatric patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions
• provide telemetry and intermediate-level care
• interpret cardiac rhythms and initiate interventions
• manage specified cardiac and insulin protocols, respiratory support, lines, tubes, and wound care
• document in Cerner and collaborate with clinical teams
• float to similar units as needed.

Why this role
