The Cost Accountant I/II role is onsite at the company’s office in Antigo, WI; Wausau, WI; or Idaho Falls, ID. Pay is $53,081.60–$75,904 per year across the listed levels. The role supports Volm Companies’ manufacturing operations and reports to the Corporate Controller. The accountant supports accurate product costing, inventory valuation, manufacturing reporting, and operational financial performance. By partnering with finance and operational teams, the role improves cost visibility, inventory integrity, and decision support; Level II also owns core processes and leads cost rolls and complex analysis.

What you'll do

• Maintain and review standard product costs, bills of materials, routings, labor rates, and overhead allocations
• monitor inventory transactions and production activity
• prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and close schedules
• analyze manufacturing and inventory variances
• support inventory valuation and cost updates
• prepare cost and operational reports
• support budgets, forecasts, pricing, and business decisions
• partner across Finance, Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership. Level II duties include leading cost rolls, profitability analysis, financial models, forecasts, and cross-functional workstreams.

Why this role

Level I or II placement depends on qualifications and experience. If based in Wausau, travel to Antigo one day per week is required; occasional additional travel is specified.
