What you'll do

• Perform and prioritize STAT, ASAP, routine, and timed laboratory testing
• collect specimens and perform phlebotomy when necessary
• conduct quality-control checks and document results
• evaluate test accuracy and recognize abnormal or incompatible results
• communicate critical values to clinicians
• maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate equipment
• maintain laboratory supplies, reagents, controls, and calibrators
• follow safety, HIPAA, and quality-assurance procedures
• assist with training and supervision of laboratory assistants and clerks.
