Creative Arts Therapist I is an onsite, 40-hour-per-week role in Charleston, SC. Compensation is not specified. The position supports MUSC’s Arts in Healing Program and provides creative arts therapy to hospital patients. The therapist assesses assigned patients, designs and delivers art or music therapy interventions aligned with treatment goals, and documents patient responses and progress. The role also works with care teams and program partners to support patient-centered services and communicate the program’s goals and offerings.

What you'll do

• Assess assigned patients and integrate appropriate creative arts therapy interventions
• address patients’ cognitive, physical, functional, and expressive needs
• document records, progress reports, and statistical information
• collaborate with volunteers and interns
• communicate Arts in Healing Program goals, mission, and services to leaders, physicians, care team members, and the community
• coordinate with designated MUSC offices to incorporate community needs.
