Automotive Service Technician — Vehicle Repair

The Automotive Service Technician role is onsite in Jasper, IN; compensation is not specified. Sternberg Automotive is a family-owned dealership group providing vehicle repair and other automotive services across Southern Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky. The technician repairs and maintains light- and medium-duty vehicles, following service orders, safety procedures, and manufacturer requirements. The role supports customer satisfaction by diagnosing issues, completing assigned repairs, and ensuring vehicles are returned in proper condition.

What you'll do

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment
• review job orders and assess vehicle operation to plan repairs
• follow inspection checklists
• examine and adjust protective guards, bolts, and safety devices
• test-drive vehicles
• tag warranty parts
• attend training and review factory technical bulletins
• complete repairs according to safety requirements and published procedures
• maintain an organized workspace and return vehicles clean
• document warranty repairs according to manufacturer policies.

Why this role

At least one year of fleet or dealership experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and personal tools are specified; ASE certification is preferred. Prior CDJR experience is preferred.
