The 3rd Shift Youth Treatment Specialist — Residential Behavioral Health position is onsite in Grand Rapids, MI, with pay of $20.50–$22.50 per hour. Wedgwood Christian Services provides residential care, counseling, and community programs for children, teens, families, and adults in West Michigan. This role supports the Zondervan Program for boys ages 14–18. Working overnight with the residential care team, the specialist helps maintain a safe, calm, and structured environment and provides consistency for residents. The role includes routine bed checks, documentation, supportive relationships, skill development, crisis response when needed, and assistance with residents’ health and daily living needs.
What you'll do
- Conduct bed checks at least every 15 minutes and document checks, observations, and resident behaviors
- maintain a calm, structured, therapeutic overnight environment
- serve as a positive role model and build supportive relationships
- use verbal de-escalation, crisis intervention, and safe physical interventions when necessary
- support social, emotional, and daily living skills
- assist with light meal preparation and household responsibilities
- administer medications as assigned
- provide basic first aid and coordinate with medical personnel when needed
- transport residents as required
- ensure residents have clothing and personal care items
- follow agency and program policies and documentation standards.
