What you'll do

• Greet patients and notify medical assistants and providers of arrivals
• answer calls and relay messages
• help patients complete forms
• collect demographic, insurance, and authorization information
• collect payments and explain financial responsibilities
• verify insurance and benefits
• schedule follow-up appointments
• coordinate referrals and authorizations
• scan records and maintain electronic medical records
• prepare charts
• balance the cash drawer
• and maintain confidentiality and front-office procedures.
