Gas Locate Technician — Oklahoma City

Job overview

The Gas Locate Technician role is an onsite field position based in Oklahoma City, OK. Starting pay is $20–$27 per hour, based on previous locating experience. Stake Center Locating trains technicians to locate underground utilities and support damage prevention in their communities. The technician uses maps, locating equipment, and technology to identify underground utilities and mark their locations. Accurate locating, documentation, and communication help prevent damage to utility infrastructure. The schedule may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and an on-call rotation for emergency calls.

What you'll do

• Locate underground utilities, troubleshoot, and mark the ground using paint and flags.
• Use a tablet to receive, document, and process tickets and emails.
• Read maps and interpret blueprints to determine locating methods and sequence.
• Use provided locating equipment and technology.
• Communicate with peers, managers, and homeowners.
• Work outdoors in varying weather.
• Respond to emergency calls during scheduled on-call shifts.
