RF PCB Layout Engineer

The RF PCB Layout Engineer role is onsite in Albuquerque, NM or Germantown, MD. Compensation is $75,000–$160,000 per year. AeroVironment develops unmanned aircraft systems and tactical missile systems used in aerospace and defense missions. The engineer creates and maintains manufacturable RF and mixed-signal printed circuit board layouts, supporting design, integration, verification, and production. The role works across engineering and manufacturing disciplines to preserve electrical performance and move hardware from prototype through production.

What you'll do

• Create and maintain PCB layouts for RF, mixed-signal, digital, power, and control assemblies
• translate schematics, RF constraints, stack-ups, mechanical envelopes, thermal paths, and assembly requirements into manufacturable layouts
• apply controlled-impedance routing, grounding, shielding, isolation, and RF-clearance practices
• maintain libraries, fabrication outputs, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and release packages
• perform design-rule and release reviews
• support signal-integrity, power-integrity, EMC, thermal, DFM, and DFT reviews
• coordinate with suppliers
• support prototype bring-up, testing, integration, failure analysis, engineering changes, and production transition.
