Failure Analysis Operator

The Failure Analysis Operator role is onsite in Durham, NC, with a Monday–Thursday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pay is $19–$22 per hour, depending on experience. The role supports electronics manufacturing and works with engineering groups on product and process improvement. The operator investigates customer-device failures across system levels, identifies root causes, and drives recovery and repair actions. The work also improves troubleshooting procedures and provides technical findings that can inform equipment, test-program, and product improvements.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot and debug customer devices at multiple system levels
• analyze circuits and topologies to identify marginal failure causes
• drive recovery actions and repairs
• develop, maintain, and improve troubleshooting solutions
• work with engineering groups to assess data and identify process or product improvement opportunities
• assist with fabrication and development of equipment, fixtures, and test programs
• improve failure-analysis procedures and support cross-training.

Why this role

Requires at least three years of relevant electronics troubleshooting and failure-analysis experience, an associate degree or higher in Electronics Technology or equivalent, and PCB and micro-component soldering experience. Familiarity with SEM, DMMs, oscilloscopes, and schematics is relevant.
