Quality Engineer — Manufacturing

The Quality Engineer role is onsite in Henderson, TN. Compensation is $80,000 per year. The engineer works with manufacturing floor activities at SSW Advanced Technologies, a supplier of components and systems for appliance, refrigeration, HVAC, and organizational markets. The role develops and maintains quality controls, addresses internal and customer quality issues, and supports product and process improvement. Through corrective action, prevention, and operator training, the engineer helps meet quality goals and reduce defects and scrap.

What you'll do

• Interpret product drawings and technical standards to develop quality controls and product checks
• oversee product quality conditions and external quality goals
• stop production when nonconforming or suspicious products may be produced
• support new projects and Lean process development
• initiate and follow up on 8-D problem-solving
• implement manufacturing-floor improvements
• train operators
• use preventive quality techniques to reduce defects and scrap
• lead corrective actions and communicate with customers or suppliers
• develop and maintain FMEAs, control plans, and quality check sheets.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3+ years of quality engineering experience. Automotive industry experience is preferred. Monday–Friday office availability is required.
