The Tutor – Elementary Grades 1–5 role is onsite in Mount Olive, NC. Compensation is not specified. The tutor supports Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain’s after-school learning programs. The tutor helps students with homework and supplemental learning, preparing grade-level math and literacy materials and creating a safe, engaging environment that supports children’s development and learning.

What you'll do

• Develop individualized lesson plans within the program format
• tutor assigned students four times per week for three hours per day
• assess and encourage learning
• complete academic reports and documentation
• support literacy games and activities
• guide youth in educational programs
• build relationships with youth, volunteers, parents, schools, and community
• track attendance
• attend programs and special events
• organize program areas
• maintain flexible scheduling to travel between locations.

Why this role
