The Aircraft Mechanic I (Composite), Day Shift role is onsite in Elizabeth City, NC, paying $44.45 per hour. The position provides aircraft maintenance services to the U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center’s Short-Range Recovery Division. The mechanic supports depot maintenance of USCG MH-65 aircraft by working on composite structures and related aircraft components. The work contributes to aircraft condition and sustainment through maintenance, repair, inspection, and technical support.

What you'll do

• Demonstrate work methods and techniques
• read and apply technical manuals, orders, blueprints, sketches, and related documents
• follow trade safety procedures and hazardous-material procedures
• support maintenance and repair of aircraft composite structures and substructures
• assist with planned depot maintenance
• use USCG data systems and OEM manuals to research maintenance history and procedures
• support aircraft upgrades and sustainment issues.

Why this role

Full-time day shift. Requires aircraft composite-structure maintenance and repair experience or an Airframe and Powerplant certificate, high school diploma or equivalent, U.S. citizenship, and ability to use required PPE. Advanced composite repair and USCG aircraft experience are highly desirable.
