Head of Engineering

Job overview

The Head of Engineering role is hybrid in Glendale, CA; compensation is $120,000–$150,000 per year. T3 TMS builds a transportation management platform for freight brokers and carriers, and this position is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity with affiliated company AiLO Logistics. This founding engineering leader will build the engineering organization and own technical delivery of the T3 TMS platform. The role contributes to the product’s planned customer go-live by setting architecture and engineering practices, hiring and developing the team, coordinating delivery with product, and maintaining quality and reliability.

What you'll do

• Build and lead the engineering organization, including hiring, onboarding, and developing engineers and QA
• establish engineering culture, code quality, review practices, incident response, and on-call norms
• partner with the CPO on roadmap, sprint sequencing, and resourcing
• own platform architecture and delivery, including brokerage, billing, document management, and ERP integrations
• define engineering processes with product and design
• manage customer request intake and prioritization
• oversee testing, uptime, incident management, and production reliability.
