The Community Engagement Direct Support Professional (DSP) — 2nd Shift role is an onsite, full-time position in Forest, VA, with hours from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Compensation is not specified. The role supports Hive’s community-based services for individuals with disabilities. The DSP helps individuals participate in community activities and build daily living and social skills while following person-centered plans and supporting health, safety, and dignity. The role also includes transportation, timely service documentation, communication with supervisors, and medication administration when certified or after obtaining certification.

What you'll do

• Support individuals during community outings, activities, volunteer opportunities, and recreational events
• assist with communication, decision-making, money handling, and social skills
• follow Person-Centered Plans, ISP goals, and behavior support strategies
• provide transportation using a personal vehicle
• document services in accordance with DBHDS regulations
• communicate concerns and incidents to supervisors
• assist with medication administration if certified or willing to obtain certification.
