DevOps / Platform Engineer, Telecom

Job overview

The DevOps / Platform Engineer, Telecom role is onsite in Irving, TX, for six months with a possible extension. Compensation is $45–$50 per hour. The engineer supports enterprise applications and real-time data processing platforms in the telecom domain. The role exists to build and maintain scalable Java applications, microservices, APIs, and data-processing solutions while supporting deployment automation and production operations. Collaboration across engineering and DevOps teams helps deliver reliable telecom platform capabilities and resolve performance or infrastructure issues.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications and microservices
• build real-time and near-real-time data processing solutions using Apache Kafka and Apache Spark
• develop REST APIs and backend services with Spring Boot
• create and optimize PL/SQL database objects
• collaborate on deployment automation, monitoring, and platform operations
• troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and performance issues
• implement logging, monitoring, and observability
• write and test maintainable code using JUnit and Mockito
• participate in Agile ceremonies
• support CI/CD and Git-based workflows
• perform root-cause analysis and work with cross-functional teams.
