Full-Time Counselor — Substance Use and Dual Diagnosis

The Full-Time Counselor — Substance Use and Dual Diagnosis role is onsite in Lincoln, NE; compensation is not specified. The counselor supports St. Monica’s Home’s clinical services for people experiencing substance use and related behavioral health needs. The role provides individual, group, and family counseling, assessments, treatment planning, case management, and crisis intervention. Through coordinated care, documentation, referrals, and clinical team participation, the counselor supports clients’ treatment progress and transitions in care.

What you'll do

• Provide individual, group, and family substance abuse and dual-diagnosis counseling
• assess client needs using standard and trauma-informed tools
• prepare and facilitate educational presentations as assigned
• maintain treatment records, progress notes, discharge summaries, aftercare plans, and staffing reports
• coordinate with families, referral sources, and other providers
• provide crisis intervention and ongoing assessment
• make referrals and support transitions
• participate in clinical staffing, training, meetings, and supervision
• provide after-hours on-call clinical services on a rotating basis
• conduct standardized drug and alcohol evaluations. Requires LADC, PLADC, LMHP, or PLMHP credential
• ASI and/or CASI certification and provider network approval for vouchers
• First Aid/CPR and Medication Aide certification or ability to obtain
• driver’s license and valid insurance.
