Junior Electrical Engineer (EIT), MEP Design — Hybrid

The Junior Electrical Engineer (EIT), MEP Design role is hybrid in Austin, TX, with three days onsite and two days remote; compensation is $75,000–$100,000 per year. The engineer supports electrical systems design for commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, and municipal building projects. Working alongside licensed Professional Engineers, the role contributes to design documentation, calculations, field investigations, and multidisciplinary coordination. This work supports project delivery while building experience toward professional licensure.

What you'll do

• Document field conditions and assist with project reports, cost estimates, and design alternatives
• research electrical codes and standards
• review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs
• participate in site visits and construction observations
• prepare electrical plans, schedules, specifications, and construction documents
• coordinate with other design disciplines
• use AutoCAD, Revit, and related software
• assist with power, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and low-voltage system design
• perform calculations under licensed engineers' supervision
• support project documentation, quality control, and coordination.
