Exercise Physiologist

The Exercise Physiologist role is onsite in Charlotte, NC. Compensation is $25 per hour. The position supports The Sharon at SouthPark’s Vitality and Well-being programs for residents and employees at its continuing care retirement community. The role uses exercise prescription to develop and deliver programs suited to residents’ and team members’ needs and interests. Through assessments, fitness orientations, communication, and participation tracking, it contributes to wellness and well-being across the community.

What you'll do

• Work with the Health and Fitness Manager and Director of Vitality and Well-being to identify program needs
• design and implement programs, including research, assessment, communication, delivery, and follow-up
• contribute wellness and health content
• support or facilitate fitness orientations
• facilitate the Vitality Discovery process for residents, including health history, goal setting, Senior Fitness Test, and exercise recommendations
• maintain participation data and enter it into a web-based benchmark system.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field; certification from ACSM, ACE, AFAA, NSCA, IDEA, or NASM; and experience leading group fitness classes. Experience with older adults is desired.
