Certified Medication Assistant (CMA)

The Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) works onsite in Fort Worth, TX, on a 2:00 PM–10:00 PM schedule. Compensation is not specified. The role supports residents at Westside Nursing Center, a long-term care facility. The assistant administers and documents medications and treatments in accordance with orders and applicable standards, while monitoring residents and reporting changes. The role also contributes to residents’ daily care, comfort, and safety through personal care and other support duties.

What you'll do

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to state regulations, physician orders, and approved techniques
• verify resident identity and document medication, dosage, and administration time
• report omitted medications and resident condition changes to the nursing supervisor
• observe residents’ responses to medications and treatments
• communicate resident needs with medication aides and technicians
• assist with meals, hydration, personal hygiene, and comfort
• restock medication inventories
• prepare equipment and assist nurses during treatments and examinations
• respond to call lights and report needs to supervisors.
