The Strategic Buyer role is onsite in Mason, OH. Compensation is not specified. VEGA Americas manufactures, distributes, and services process instrumentation used to measure level, density, weight, and pressure, supporting safer and more efficient industrial processes. The buyer develops sourcing strategies and supplier relationships that support organizational needs while balancing cost, risk, quality, delivery, and innovation. Cross-functional procurement work helps ensure suppliers and contracts align with business priorities and production requirements.

What you'll do

• Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers
• develop long-term sourcing strategies
• negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and multi-year agreements
• collaborate with production and logistics on capital expenditure projects
• work with operations, engineering, quality, and finance to forecast demand and align procurement
• analyze markets and spending
• lead RFQs, bid analysis, and supplier award recommendations
• monitor supplier performance and drive improvement
• partner on supplier audits and corrective actions
• identify supply risks and mitigation strategies
• oversee contract lifecycle management
• coordinate timely procurement and delivery.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree and four to six years of related sourcing or purchasing experience, or an equivalent combination. Specialty alloy experience is sought; CPIM or CSCP certification is preferred.
