Assistant Operator, Day Shift

The Assistant Operator, Day Shift role is onsite in Frankfort, KY, with pay starting at $20 per hour. Washington Penn engineers polyolefin compounds and supplies thermoplastic resins, compounds, and custom formulations. The assistant operator supports facility production by handling material transfers and resin levels, packaging and labeling finished material, and assisting operators. The role also contributes to safe, orderly operations and completes the assistant operator training program.

What you'll do

• Complete the Assistant Operator training program
• maintain knowledge of raw material transfer systems and warehouse material locations
• monitor resin silo levels and notify departments when refills are needed
• provide relief coverage for extruder operators
• follow supervisor instructions and formulations
• record material identification and quantities
• package and label finished material
• perform miscellaneous equipment maintenance
• use required safety equipment
• maintain a clean, safe work area and report hazards
• assist operators as needed.

Why this role

Day shift runs 7 a.m.–7 p.m. on a two-week rotation, with alternating three-day weekends. High school diploma or equivalent is required; ability to stand or walk up to 12 hours and lift 50 pounds is specified.
