The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Subject Matter Expert role is onsite in Huntsville, AL. Compensation is not specified. The senior security advisor helps protect information systems by guiding cybersecurity controls, risk management, compliance, and accreditation. The role develops security documentation, supports Authority to Operate processes, manages vulnerabilities and corrective-action plans, and reports on security effectiveness.

What you'll do

• Advise the Information System Owner, Business Process Owner, and CISO/ISSM on security
• implement and maintain cybersecurity controls under NIST and FISMA requirements
• develop and revise System Security Plans, contingency plans, and ATO packages
• support accreditation and certification
• conduct network self-inspections
• manage vulnerabilities and POA&Ms
• evaluate NIST 800-53 controls
• use GRC tools for monitoring and compliance
• prepare security effectiveness reports.
