Accounts Payable Coordinator

Job overview

The Accounts Payable Coordinator role is remote, with candidates able to reside anywhere if they can work the required Eastern Time schedule. Compensation is $19–$23 per hour. Local candidates train in person at The Lee Group’s Newport News headquarters; the assignment is temporary and project-based from November 13, 2026, through May 12, 2027. The coordinator supports daily accounting operations by processing invoices, resolving discrepancies, and helping ensure accurate, timely payments. The role maintains financial records and supports accounting close activities while coordinating with vendors and internal teams.

What you'll do

• Process high volumes of invoices
• review, validate, code, and enter invoices
• match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation
• research and resolve discrepancies
• communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders
• monitor invoice workflows
• support month-end, mid-year, and year-end accounting activities
• maintain financial records and documentation
• and assist with assigned accounting projects.

Why this role

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Eastern Time, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The assignment has a defined end date and no current permanent conversion opportunity.
