Head Swim Coach — Competitive Youth Program

The Head Swim Coach role is onsite in Barrington, RI, with pay of $20 per hour. The position leads the Bayside Family YMCA competitive swim program, part of the Greater Providence YMCA. The program serves approximately 175 competitive swimmers and has a record of league championships and YMCA National qualifiers. The coach develops swimmers and leads the program’s training, competition, and staff development. The role works with the Aquatics Director and YMCA leadership to sustain competitive excellence while fostering athlete growth, positive team culture, and engagement with families and the community.

What you'll do

• Design seasonal training plans
• lead daily practices
• evaluate swimmer progress and assign training groups
• oversee dry-land training for swimmers ages 11 and older
• recruit, mentor, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches
• lead swim meet preparation and competition
• collaborate on the annual budget
• support fundraising, team events, marketing, recruitment, and community outreach
• maintain required program compliance.
