The Head Start Teacher — 52-Week Program role is onsite in Mattapan, MA, with pay of $28.62–$39.61 per hour depending on teacher level. The teacher provides care and education as part of a teaching team, plans and implements educational programming, and supports children’s development and social competency. The role also works with families, teacher assistants, and program staff to deliver individualized learning and meet program standards.

What you'll do

• Provide a safe, nurturing, individualized preschool environment
• balance child-led and teacher-led activities
• support children’s independence and development
• supervise and assist teacher assistants and volunteers
• engage parents
• participate in screening, assessment, lesson planning, IEP development, observations, recordkeeping, home visits, conferences, and field trips
• maintain required child-to-staff ratios and supervision.
