CNC Machinist - Day Shift

The CNC Machinist - Day Shift role is onsite in Eugene, OR; compensation is not specified. At Astec's Franklin Boulevard operation, the team designs and builds products and solutions for industries and customers worldwide. The machinist sets up and operates CNC equipment to produce parts that meet blueprint dimensions and quality tolerances. Careful inspection, safe work practices, and coordination with engineering and production colleagues support reliable manufacturing and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

• Follow safe work practices
• plan tasks from production schedules or shop requests
• interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications
• measure and mark material
• select and secure fixtures and cutting tools
• set machine controls or enter and edit control commands
• monitor machine operation and adjust as needed
• inspect finished work against blueprints and tolerances
• run trials to verify settings
• consult with engineers and production staff to resolve issues
• maintain equipment and work area
• assist with directing support staff as needed.
