The Senior Flight Software Engineer (Rust) role is onsite in Arlington, VA, Santa Barbara/Goleta, CA, or Reston, VA. The annual compensation range is $155,000 to $185,000. The engineer develops and delivers embedded flight software for Umbra missions, from requirements and architecture through implementation, integration, and testing. The role supports reliable spacecraft and payload operations and provides technical guidance and mentorship to the software team.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop, and maintain reliable flight and payload software
• architect and implement software to meet system requirements and manage subsystem, ground-system, and hardware interfaces
• develop spacecraft command-and-control software
• lead or contribute to unit, automated system, and subsystem testing
• maintain software documentation
• explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences
• and travel up to 15% between company offices.
