What you'll do
- Inspect completed workpieces for defects and sort flawed pieces
- measure workpieces against specifications
- set machine stops and change dies
- start and monitor machines and record operational data
- operate machines to cut, shear, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten materials
- adjust machine speeds and actions
- read work orders and production schedules
- position and secure workpieces using fixtures and measuring devices.
