The Academic Tutor & Mentor (Entry Level, Full-Time) is an onsite role based in Reading, MA. Compensation is not specified for this position, which supports the City Year department in fostering student success through dedicated mentorship and academic guidance. This role exists to provide essential support to students, classrooms, and the school community. By coaching students and assisting with instructional activities, the tutor helps ensure that students develop the academic skills and positive behaviors necessary to thrive in their educational environment.

What you'll do

• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and/or math skills varying learning activities by student level.
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students.
• Develop interpersonal skills throughout their day.
• Collaborate with teachers and team members to collect, record, analyze and monitor individual student progress.
• Create an engaging, safe and healthy classroom space.
• Support and/or conduct extended day and virtual programming for students.
• Create, support and/or co-lead events or programs that recognize and appreciate student growth.
