What you'll do
- Performs x-ray and CT exams in accordance with standards and practice set forth by the American Registry or Radiologic Technology and Radiology Department policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes and functions, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, quality assurance, specialized techniques and adheres to all Corporate Radiation Right policies. Produces scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric age groups. Follows established scanning and viewing protocols. Operates CT scanner (any models) and related equipment efficiently and effectively. Completes quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organizing and prioritizing workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands while continuing to meet OP customer standards. Demonstrates proficiency in scanning trauma, acute and challenging patients
- possess skills to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed. Demonstrates knowledge of disease processes and produce studies that optimally identify related anatomy. Demonstrates competence in using the power injector
- verbalizes limits of use. Scans patients of all ages, tailoring exam to the age/size/weight/special needs of patients. Completes the required documentation on forms, logs, workstation and Meditech. Assists the Radiologist during invasive procedures, demonstrates knowledge of supplies required and ensures availability. Ensures CT and department equipment is functioning properly.
