What you'll do

• Prepare production schedules and translate orders into sequential work schedules
• confer with department supervisors about work progress and completion dates
• report on progress, inventory levels, costs, and production problems
• evaluate and negotiate vendor quotes
• purchase materials, equipment, and supplies
• procure assigned commodities and services for plant operations and production
• maintain supplier relationships and develop new suppliers
• review MRP and issue transfer, work, and purchase orders
• confirm vendor orders and revise contracts
• follow up on delivery
• review reverse MRP to prevent overstock.
