The Temporary Junior Accountant role is hybrid, based out of Smile Train's Midtown Manhattan office in New York, NY; compensation is $35 per hour. The temporary appointment is described as running from September 2026 through April 2027, with typical hours of 35 per week. Smile Train supports access to comprehensive cleft care worldwide. The role provides hands-on finance support during a system-wide ERP conversion. It helps maintain accurate financial records, process routine accounting activity, check and clean data for migration, and support reconciliations and reporting for the global finance team.

What you'll do

• Enter, code, and track financial transactions and vendor invoices
• process corporate credit card statements, employee expense reimbursements, and accounts payable items
• assist with vendor payments by ACH and wire
• maintain digital vendor, banking, and tax records
• support financial data entry, cleaning, deduplication, and quality checks for ERP migration
• verify general ledger entries, vendor information, and historical transactions
• perform monthly bank reconciliations and routine ledger reviews under supervision
• assist with month-end schedules and budget coding reviews
• gather audit schedules and supporting documents
• complete assigned administrative, data-entry, and reporting projects.
