The machinist interprets technical drawings, selects tooling, checks dimensions, inspects work, and maintains equipment and a safe, organized work area.

What you'll do

• Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machine tools
• read blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
• machine components to precise dimensions and tolerances
• select tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters
• use micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• inspect quality and make adjustments
• maintain equipment and follow safety procedures.
