Animal Care Technician – Part Time

The Animal Care Technician – Part Time role is onsite in Buffalo, NY, and is limited to 40 hours per week. Pay is $22.50–$25.00 per hour. The technician works under the Veterinary Medical Unit Manager and cares for research animals at the Veterinary Medical Unit at VAWNYHS. The role supports the safety and well-being of research animals by providing daily care, monitoring health, reporting abnormalities, and dispensing medications as instructed. The position requires a current New York State Licensed Veterinary Technician credential and includes weekend and holiday coverage.

What you'll do

• Provide for the overall care, safety, and well-being of research animals
• feed, water, and change a variety of species housed in the Veterinary Medical Unit
• assess animal health and report abnormalities or sickness to the Manager
• dispense medications as instructed by the Manager or Principal Investigator.
